Business leaders from across Teesside will join Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen and Stobart Group’s Kate Willard at Teesside International Airport later this month.

The attendees of the exclusive dinner, the first of its kind, will see Teesside International’s stress-free and business friendly facilities first-hand as the airport continue to support the Tees Valley’s vibrant and striving business community.

The event, which will focus on how Teesside International can become a hub for the 17,500 businesses in the region, will come just weeks after the 100th anniversary of one of Teesside International’s airline partners, KLM.

The Dutch carrier provides regular air-links to and from Teesside International and Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, which is a major worldwide aviation hub, giving global between to (200+ worldwide destinations and) the Tees Valley and North Eastern business community.

Teesside International was also rebranded from Durham Tees Valley Airport earlier this year, owing to its global ambitions and worldwide links.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “I’ve always said that now the airport is back under public ownership, it should work for the good of our brilliant businesses as well as providing great links for local people. I’m delighted to be welcoming some of our amazing business leaders to this dinner, where they will be able to see first-hand how our ten-year rescue plan is getting on and the improvements we’ve made. They’ll also learn about the opportunities on site and how we can work together to help them, and the airport, succeed.”

Kate Willard, Director of Partnership Development at Stobart Group, said: “We are excited to launch our first business engagement dinner at Teesside International later this month. We are very keen to work closely with the region’s companies and entrepreneurs and show how Teesside International can take their business to the skies. Having run similar programmes at our other airports, we have found that these events are a great way to celebrate hard-working business leaders, while informing them about our strong offering.”
