Teesside International Airport has today (29 October) unveiled a new partnership with five-star luxury hotel Rockliffe Hall in Darlington.
This relationship will see the airport work closely with the golf and spa hotel to help sell the Tees Valley as a fantastic place to live, work, visit and invest, with VIPs flying into the area being offered the highest quality accommodation at the resort.
As part of the partnership, cross-promotion at both sites will see the hotel highlight the airport as a friendly, convenient way to get to destinations across the UK and worldwide via its connection to London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol, which will return early next year following a temporary pause. At the same time, Teesside International will fly the flag for Rockliffe Hall, the only five-star hotel in the Tees Valley.
The business lounge will also undergo a refurbishment and be renamed the Rockliffe lounge, with more details to be revealed as work starts in the coming weeks. This will complement the ongoing £1million renovation to the airport’s security area and revamp of the arrivals hall.
Mayor Houchen said: “Rockliffe Hall is an amazing asset for the region and it makes perfect sense for our airport to work closely with them. As ever, we’re aiming to give all passengers the five-star treatment, and that doesn’t have to end when they leave the terminal thanks to this new partnership.
“Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool have a lot to offer and we want to wow people that come through the airport terminal, showing off the fantastic venue just 15 minutes away. From its rooms, spa and restaurant to its event spaces and sporting facilities, Rockliffe Hall regularly plays host to everyone from tourists to business leaders to visiting sports teams. Getting the Teesside Airport message to its customers will further boost our profile across the country and continue to help turn our airport around.
“Together we can put our best foot forward and show visitors the world-class facilities we have right on our doorstep for business or leisure – and thanks to the routes we have, these are easier than ever to enjoy.”
Jason Adams, Rockliffe Hall’s Managing Director, said: “Rockliffe Hall is the region’s leading luxury hotel, dining, golf and spa destination. We have a natural synergy with the airport in our shared goals to attract more visitors from across the UK and overseas. It is so positive for the whole region to see so many new routes being developed right here from Teesside, and we are proud to have formed this partnership.”
