Holidaymakers heading off from Teesside can choose from a range of new resorts for their getaway this summer with launch of a new service to Turkey.

The airport has enjoyed its most successful summer season in more than a decade and a new sunshine destination will be added for holidaymakers in 2024.

From this May TUI will fly weekly to Dalaman, meaning you can head to a string of stunning Turkish hotspots for seven or 14 nights this summer.

Temperatures top an average of 35C in the height of summer in Turkey so you’ll be guaranteed some spectacular conditions.

The route will provide a direct link to popular resorts in the Dalaman area including Marmaris, Icmeler, Olu Deniz, Fethiye, Kalkan and more.

The Turquiose Coast is known for its stunning shoreline containing a chain of coves, bays and long stretches of sand and the news route also opens up access to scenic bays along the south-western edge of Turkey.

All the resorts have great bars, restaurants, shops and watersports. The famous Blue Lagoon in Olu Deniz meanwhile has long been the jewel in the crown of the area.

Then there’s Sarigerme, a relative newcomer to Turkey’s tourism market, and the location of a gorgeous 12km beach.

If you’re looking to explore, the Dalaman region has a stunning mountainous backdrop that can be explored on 4×4 safaris.

Historical sites such as Ephesus – once the second-biggest city in the Roman Empire – also provide a fascinating day-trip opportunity.

There are always great offers flying from Teesside, which was named UK and Irish Airport of the Year for 2023 so keep an eye out for some of the deals you can snap up for summer 2024.
