Families looking for a fantastic winter trip can book now to fly from Teesside International Airport to Lapland for an unforgettable Christmas experience.

Transun is bringing its Winter Wonderland daybreak back to the airport once again on 13th and 23rd December, giving people from Tees Valley the chance to fly direct from their local airport to the Finnish destination, where they can seek out Santa’s cabin and meet the man himself.

The trip includes return flights including meals, a reindeer sleigh ride, a meeting with Santa plus a gift, husky and snowmobile experiences, lunch and a loan of thermal suits and boots.

Prices are £539 for adults and £499 for children, but half-price child places are available in the package – contact your local travel agent for more information.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “It’s great to see the return of these hugely popular trips which make brilliant memories for people across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool year after year.

“As we continue to go from strength to strength in relaunching previously announced routes and revealing new destinations following the coronavirus pandemic, this trip provides something very different and special. This has been a difficult year for many, but these Lapland trips will really give local people something else to look forward to around the festive period.

“Tour operator Transun is another important airport partner who has been incredibly supportive of our plans to make Teesside International a success. In running these trips, Transun has once again reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to our airport and I’m happy to be working with them once again.”

Dino Toouli from Transun said: “We’re once again delighted to offer our popular Daybreaks to Lapland from Teesside International in the run up to Christmas this year. Demand remains strong which is a testament to not only the hassle-free flying experience customers enjoy from the airport, but to our value for money breaks which includes a private family meeting with Santa himself in his cosy log cabin situated deep within the arctic circle.”

The announcement of the trips comes just days after Mayor Houchen revealed that Teesside International is once again flying to Heathrow Airport with Eastern Airways. The new route, returning after more than a decade, will allow local people to fly to London for business or to connect with more than 180 locations in 84 countries across the world.
