Land a New Role as Teesside Airport Air Traffic Controller

Teesside International Airport wants to put a new job opportunity on the radars of local people looking to work as an Air Traffic Control Officer.

This key role involves working to ensure aircraft within, and in the vicinity of, the airport’s airspace manoeuvre, start-up, taxi, take off and land in a safe, orderly and efficient manner.

It will include operating communications and lighting systems and the radar display console, monitor the accuracy of ground equipment and coordinate with neighbouring Air Traffic Control approach and radar units among other duties.

This is the latest job to be advertised at Teesside Airport and, by the end of September, 34 new roles will have been created since the airport accelerated its recruitment at the start of May this year. New jobs have been filled in everything from retail, food and beverage and passenger services to finance, executive assistance and firefighting – with more to be advertised in the future.

Applications for the role, with a starting salary of £57,151, will close next Wednesday, 8 September.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “This is a fantastic opportunity and goes to show how our airport is creating good-quality, well-paid jobs for the people of Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool across all of our operations, and there are still more to come.

“This incredible opportunity is perfect for anyone qualified in the field who wants to join our growing airport right at the start of its journey. As we continue to grow our routes and destinations, with Dublin and Antalya in Turkey two of the most recent locations to be served from the airport, our already busy airspace will be getting even more active and exciting.

“There’ll be a wealth of other opportunities coming too thanks to everything we’re doing, not just for the airport, but for Government’s new economic campus, our emerging projects at Teesworks or at one of our region’s many brilliant businesses, so keep watching this space.”
