Looking for a getaway and some summer heat? Look no further! There’s a whole raft of destinations to choose from just a matter of hours away from Teesside Airport.
This summer sees Dalaman return to departure screens from 28 May – with TUI flying out to the gateway to Turkey’s turquoise coast every Tuesday until September. It’s the first time in more than a decade the destination is back at Teesside. Temperatures top an average of 35C in the height of summer, so you are almost guaranteed some real summer sun.
The beauty of the Algarve coast is also in reach from Teesside every Wednesday and Sunday until Autumn with Ryanair offering trips to Faro. The old town’s cobbled streets and picturesque squares, the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a haven for birdwatching and outdoor enthusiasts, and the fresh seafood at local restaurants make Faro a trip for sunseekers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Flights to the Greek isle of Corfu return on 1 June, enjoy its lush landscapes, azure waters, and rich history with flights departing on a Saturday morning.
Trips to Bourgas, Bulgaria, will start from Sunday 26 May and offer a chance to sample the nightlife of Sunny Beach or the 3,000-year history of Nessebar.
Escape to Alicante, Spain’s sun-kissed gem. With its golden beaches and vibrant culture, Alicante offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Explore the historic Santa Bárbara Castle or stroll through the charming Old Town’s narrow streets. Ryanair offers flights to Alicante year-round and during the summer fly every Thursday and Sunday.
When it comes to visiting the holiday hotspot of Majorca, you’re spoilt for choice! There are four flights a week to choose from when you jet off to the king of the Balearic Islands- Majorca. With charming villages in its rugged mountains as well as its sun-soaked sandy shores. TUI offer trips every Tuesday and Saturday while Ryanair jet off on Thursdays and Sundays.
Last, and certainly by no means least on our summer getaway list, is the vibrant city of Amsterdam. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines have three flights to the Dutch capital every single day from Teesside. Home to some of the finest art in the world, Amsterdam can be reached in just an hour from Teesside – boasting rich history, charming waterways and a buzzing nightlife. Or if you fancy something further afield, you can always connect onwards from Amsterdam to over 160+ worldwide destinations.
