A winter flight from Teesside has seen passengers jet off to see the stunning scenery and natural phenomena of Iceland.
The one-off flight with Fairs-Lloyds Travel fought the winter weather to take off on Thursday, 30 November ahead of its return on Monday, December 4.
The package was offered through Fairs-Lloyds Travel – with stylish Reykjavik offering a plush base for their four-night stay.
The stunning trip includes a Northern Lights cruise where passengers got the chance to see the Aurora Borealis from a 360-degree viewing platform.
They also have an excursion booked to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, are exploring Iceland’s Golden Circle and will take on a snowmobile excursion to cap off the package.
This latest visit comes as a string of winter excursions begin from Teesside, including Transun’s popular Winter Wonderland trip to Lapland on 23 December, and Newmarket Holidays operating a Lapland Santa Experience day trip on 12 December.
Transun are also offering a three-night charter to see the stunning Northern Lights on 11 January – with packages still available.
The busy charter to Iceland is also set to return in 2024.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “Summer flights from Teesside are flying off the shelves as we increase the number of routes we secure to sunny destinations.
“But it’s wonderful to see a rise in these stunning winter opportunities. We’re always working hard to attract and host new flights all year round, and Fairs-Lloyds are absolute Trojans in supporting our airport.
“Travel agents are vital to ensuring people in Teesside, Darlington, Hartlepool and those across the North of England realise what a gem we are – and get exactly what they need from their local airport.
“We’re smashing passenger records, we’re racing ahead when it comes to our freight facility and we’re seeing our £200million business park take shape. 2023 has been a year of more big strides forward and I’m looking forward to 2024.”
Melanie Fairs, of Fairs-Lloyds, said: “It’s great to see a packed Iceland flight so well supported and we are already planning for this trip to return in 2024. Get in touch with our store to be contacted when this goes on sale.
“We’re got some super packages available to all destinations served by Teesside Airport, and we’d urge everyone to get in touch with us or come into the shop to find out more.”
Our car parking is situated directly opposite the terminal building and is closer and safer than parking anywhere else to access the airport.
