Winter Sun Boost As Alicante Services Go Three-Times Weekly

Holidaymakers seeking winter sun have even more options from Teesside Airport – with thrice-weekly flights to Alicante now on sale.
Ryanair has revealed that, from 29 October, it will run services on Mondays Thursdays and Sundays, following the success of its sales for this summer season.
The tickets will add an extra 20,000 seats to its service, in yet another vote of confidence for the airport. It now means local people can get away to the popular Spanish city for breaks of three, six, seven, 10, 11 and 14 nights.
Passengers are currently enjoying trips to Alicante as part of the airline’s full slate of summer flights, which also includes Corfu, Faro in Portugal and Majorca. TUI – one of the UK’s biggest travel companies – has launched flights to Antalya, Turkey, plus Majorca and Balkan Holidays is flying to Bulgaria.
If people are looking for something further afield, they can get worldwide from Teesside to 200 destinations with KLM’s thrice-daily flights to Amsterdam Schiphol.
Flights are also now on sale for summer 2024 which includes TUI’s new service to Dalaman, Turkey.
The news comes after it was announced that Teesside Airport had been shortlisted in the Travel Trade Gazette’s annual Travel Industry Awards in the UK & Irish Airport of the Year category. The category is judged by a panel of industry experts and the winner will be revealed on 28 September.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “This new commitment just shows how our airlines are seeing success at Teesside and responding quickly to give local people what they’ve been crying out for.
“These new flights are adding thousands more seats to keep up with the ever-growing demand following our best year in more than a decade in 2022 and this summer season already off to a flying start.
“We’re continuing to get our name out there – with our shortlist entry in the prestigious TTG industry awards showing how we’re punching above our weight and playing with the big boys without losing sight of the local, friendly and swift service that passengers love.”
