2023 has been a great year for Teesside International Airport, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our fantastic passengers and wonderful staff!
Teesside Airport received two major award wins this year – Best UK Airport for Leisure Travel at the British Travel Awards and UK & Irish Airport of the Year at the TTG Travel Industry Awards. Not to mention we were the only UK airport shortlisted for the Airport Experience Award – scooping a Highly Commended title – and we were also recognised as Highly Commended in the UK AOA & CAA Health & Safety Week, marking the end of another successful year.
Most recently, passengers voted Teesside Airport the Best UK Airport for Leisure Travel at the British Travel Awards – the largest survey of consumer opinion on everything to do with holiday travel. The transformation of Teesside Airport has made a huge impression on passengers, who voted in their thousands to make Teesside top of the list.
Earlier this year Teesside International Airport was named UK & Irish Airport of the Year at the TTG Travel Industry Awards – a major industry ceremony in London. A panel of aviation and travel expert judges assessed entries from airports across the country before awarding the gong to Teesside. The awards celebrated those businesses and travel professionals that worked to deliver the best service and experience, to help champion a fairer travel industry.
At the International Airport Summit, Teesside Airport was the only UK airport to be shortlisted for The Airport Experience Award. The Award celebrated the spectacular experiences offered to travellers, with a particular focus on the creative use of technology, campaigns and food and retail services to ensure a seamless experience for passengers.
Finally, the UK Airports Health & Safety Week, organised by the Airport Operators Association (AOA), supported by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), saw Teesside Airport recognised as Highly Commended for their work towards health and safety. This year, the AOA accepted submissions from UK airports around the mental health and wellbeing of its staff and passengers, to acknowledge the efforts, enthusiasm, commitment, energy, and determination for leading the way on safety in this vital area.
