Key resorts in Alicante

Alicante

The Valencia region boasts two cities; Alicante is full of boutiques, art galleries and boasts a beautiful marina. Valencia is a charming mix of old and new, with grand palaces and world-class museums.

Murcia, to the south, has a 170km coastline full of small beaches and coves including La Manga, a “paradise between two seas” which almost completely closes off the Mar Menor lagoon from the Mediterranean.

Whether it’s stay-up-late nightlife, amazing water sports and swathes of huge beaches or strolls along promenades with tapas and Rioja, the Costa Blanca has it all.

Benidorm

Benidorm is just 40 minutes away from Alicante meaning you can go from the culture of old town to lively nights out in no time at all.

Famed for both its nightlife and its beaches, Benidorm offers three blue flag beaches perfect for water sports and sunbathing. Then when the sun goes down you can go to Top Road for endless night out options.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a miracle of natural beauty. Surrounded by a green salt lake, a pink salt lake and the Mediterranean sea, the city is really something to see.

If you somehow tire of the views, there is still a lot to do. You can shop till you drop at an authentic Spanish market or at a dedicated shopping centre. Take the kids, or your inner child, to a massive waterpark that boasts more than 15 attractions. Or learn the diverse and interesting history of Torrevieja at one of its many museums.

Calpe

Calpe is a former fishing village that now boasts palm tree beaches at the foot of a rocky coastline. If sightseeing is your thing, then Calpe is the place for you because not only is there beautiful natural scenery with beaches and nature parks galore, there’s also Roman ruins to explore and speciality museums to visit. One thing is for sure, when you visit Calpe you will need to have your camera with you.
