CHANGE TO LIQUID RESTRICTIONS | New Government restriction on liquids carried in hand luggage | All liquids in hand luggage must be in containers of under 100ml
1.1 To undertake ramp handling including baggage on and off load, to ensure the safe and compliant marshalling of aircraft and implementation of ramp procedures.
1.2 To ensure the safe handling of passengers with reduced mobility, whilst maintaining high levels of customer service.
1.3 To assist in protecting the Critical Parts of the Airport in accordance with Airport Security programme.
1.4 To carry out allocated cleaning activities in accordance the internal service standards
1.5 To undertake, as required any labouring, ancillary duties as instructed by the ADM.
2.0 Principal Accountabilities To complete all daily routines & operational tasks set out by the ADM: AIRFIELD:
2.1 The safe and efficient loading and unloading of baggage (including any freight) from and onto aircraft.
2.2 Ensuring compliance with the Triple ‘A’ (bingo card) reconciliation system as directed by DfT and in accordance with the AOI.
2.3 Ensure that all vehicles and equipment on the apron are operated in a safe manner on the apron and other areas
2.4 Carry out visual checks of vehicles before use, reporting any damage or serviceability problems to the Airport Duty Manager.
2.5 Provide aircraft with all appropriate ground services including GPU, steps, and if required an a/c pushback facility and any facility required by the airline which may be undertaken by TIA.
2.6 Be familiar with relevant task cards of the Airport Contingency Plan including the Emergency Trailer operation.
2.7 To undertake the following operational tasks:- ▪ aircraft marshalling, ▪ low visibility procedures, ▪ friction testing, ▪ apron/runway inspections, ▪ FOD patrols, ▪ co-ordination of fuelling (where required) apron defect reporting and follow-up action, ▪ vehicle escorts, ▪ aircraft ‘follow me’s’, ▪ airside de-icing and snow clearing and grass cutting ▪ To administer the airside caution system ▪ Undertake regular operational audits as required ▪ To administer work permits as required ▪ To initiate any accident reporting and to supply the ADM with preliminary investigatory information. ▪ To undertake Terminal Inspections in accordance with the Terminal Operating Procedure ▪ Assisting Security in the Protection of the Critical Part.
PRM: 2.8 To provide an efficient ‘Passengers with Restricted Mobility’ (PRM) – service including information and assistance to PRM customers.
2.9 Ensure a smooth process for all Wheelchair passengers from the car park to terminal check in desks, and from arrivals back to the car park (e.g.: wheelchair access, visibility impaired).
2.10 Ensure regular checks are carried out throughout the day to ensure sufficient wheelchairs are placed at designated areas.
2.11 Ensure all faulty wheelchairs are reported to ensure prompt repair
CLEANING/ANCILLARY: 2.12 To carry out allocated cleaning activities to high standards and in accordance with schedule for areas to be cleaned.
2.13 Maintain cleaning records/documentation.
2.14 Report faulty or damaged equipment to ADM.
2.15 To ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, operational and tested at intervals as prescribed in relevant departmental instructions and that equipment failures or performance deterioration are highlighted and acted upon.
2.16 To undertake as required any general housekeeping duties including the terminal and the car park as instructed by the ADM.
2.17 To undertake any labouring duties as required.
2.18 To undertake any water meter readings across the site.
2.19 To provide non-technical support to the engineering team as required.
2.20 To escort any contractors on site in accordance with the SMS policy and security procedures. Undertake such personal training as may be deemed necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post.
2.21 Any other ad-hoc duties which may occur from time to time and are considered to be within the post holder’s capability, to ensure business continuity.
2.22 Whilst at work the post-holder will be expected to comply and co-operate with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is reminded of the employee’s responsibilities as detailed in Sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The post holder will: 2.22.1 Take reasonable care of the health and safety of him/herself and other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work. Co-operate with the Company management so far as is necessary in order that the Company can carry out its statutory duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all relevant statutory provisions.
2.22.2 Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare.
2.22.3 In addition, the post-holder will comply with the more specific requirements contained within the Safety Management System and associated documents.
2.22.4 Whilst at work the post-holder will be expected to take into consideration how their individual and collective actions may affect the Airport’s continued compliance with environmental guidance and legislation.
2.22.5 Take responsibility for their actions and co-operate with the Airport Management so far as possible to minimise and prevent the potential pollution of the environment.
2.22.6 Not to intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse plant equipment, procedures or instructions that may lead to a pollution incident.
