Teesside International Airport

Teesside International Airport is a regional airport seeking to develop global connectivity, along with domestic and European business routes and leisure opportunities. The Airport is also focused on developing broader aviation related activities.

We are currently looking for energetic, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. Reporting to the Airside Safety Officer, the role provides vital support to airport operations including aircraft loading, unloading and turnaround.

Specific duties will include:

  • Registering hold luggage as it arrives from Check In and ensuring the accurate and timely allocation of hold items to the correct aircraft;
  • Loading outbound aircraft adhering to loading instructions and weight and balance parameters;
  • Unloading inbound aircraft and ensuring safe delivery to baggage carousels;
  • Operating and driving vehicles and equipment in the airside area;
  • Marshalling aircraft;
  • Ensuring the safe handling of passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) whilst maintaining high levels of customer service including assistance on / off the aircraft and travelling through the airport;
  • Other duties including cleaning activities, delivering catering supplies to aircraft, FOD patrols, security patrols, de-icing airport areas, snow clearing and grass cutting;

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to work in a manual handling role and lift and carry items up to 32kg;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and remain calm under pressure;
  • Previous experience of airport operations would be an advantage;
  • Flexible attitude to working hours, work activities and an ability to work shifts as the role will involve working an operational shift pattern providing cover up to 24 hours, averaging 37 hours per week including weekends;
  • A full UK driving licence and you will also be required to complete a Counter Terrorist Check and a five year background check.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience in airfield or airport operations
  • Experience in cargo or freight operations
  • Experience in forklift operation
