Teesside International Airport is a regional airport seeking to develop global connectivity, along with domestic and European business routes and leisure opportunities. The Airport is also focused on developing broader aviation related activities.

The Jet Centre is our fixed-base operator (FBO), providing services for private, business and military aviation. We are currently looking for a passionate, customer focussed and driven individual to join the team as an Operations Officer.

Specific duties will include:

  • Ensuring FBO customers receive excellent customer service and the services they require;
  • Respond to handling requests and ensure all services are anticipated and arranged;
  • To marshal and chock fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters safely onto the ramp and to operate a GPU and other ground services equipment;
  • To assist flight crew with flight planning and communications, and passengers with luggage and associated loading;
  • To maintain accurate information on the Airport Operations system and other manual and computerized systems;
  • To process invoices and payments and other related finance duties;
  • To liaise with the Control Authorities and ensure operators have a smooth experience whilst at the airport;
  • To liaise with the Airport’s fuel supplier for the provision of efficient aircraft fuelling;
  • Ensure all operations are completed safely and correctly

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to follow procedures;
  • Previous customer service experience is essential and experience of working in the business / general aviation sector would be an advantage;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and undertake hands on tasks as well as project work;
  • The ability to listen and respond to customer needs, make decisions and respond calmly and quickly to any given situation;
  • Proven competency of working in a highly regulated and safety driven environment;
  • A calm, organised and logical approach, particularly as there will be times when you will be working alone or remotely from other team members;
  • Competent literacy, numeracy and IT skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Flexible attitude to working hours, work activities and an ability to work shifts as the role will involve working an operational shift pattern providing cover up to 24 hours, averaging 40 hours per week including weekends;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and be calm under pressure;
  • A full UK driving licence and you will also be required to complete a Counter Terrorist Check and a five year background check
