Teesside International Airport’s flights to much-loved summer sun destinations and year-round worldwide connections make it a

But there’s more than just the choice of flights on offer as to why you should choose Teesside for your next getaway.

    1. Car to bar in minutes

Teesside’s terminal building is located directly in front of its car park and drop-off and pickup points. So, there’s no need for a shuttle bus or long slog humping heavy cases.

Once you’re inside the terminal, it’s just as easy to get around, with an efficient security area situated right next to the check in desks, where you don’t even need to remove your electronic devices from hand luggage. Once through security, you don’t have to walk miles to your gate, meaning it’s just a short hop from your house to the plane with no stress!

    2. Disability friendly

Its convenient location – plus the fact the terminal building is all on one level – makes travelling via Teesside incredibly easy for those with mobility problems. The airport Management Team hosts a regular Accessibility Group Forum to consult with disability groups and airport customers – and the airport has also signed up to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme and worked with the North East Autism Society.

All of this has led to the Civil Aviation Authority to give Teesside the highest rating of “Very Good” for the second year running, thanks to the level of assistance to ensure those who need it can have a stress-free, comfortable journey.

Passengers can even check out a virtual run-through of our airport here, so they can be confident in journeying with us.

    3. Friendly and Intimate, with Shorter Waiting Times

Teesside Airport’s easy-to-navigate layout, its size and security rules meaning you don’t have to juggle things in and out of hand luggage all add up to a calm kick-off to your holiday.

The number of staff to passengers is also high, giving everyone a friendly, personal service you just don’t see at major hubs.

    4. Relax with us

On top of the usual holiday essentials and popular Duty Free shop, Teesside Boutique is a fashion-forward boutique located inside the airport, offering a hand-picked selection of luxury designs from various brands.

If you want a bite to eat, passengers can relax at both the Transporter Bar & Kitchen and Goosepool Bar, both offering popular ales, ciders, spirits and wines plus tea, coffee and soft drinks alongside crowd-pleasing food. Including the Parmo, of course.

If you want to push the boat out, check out our Lounge, with comfy seating, wifi, charging stations, TVs and a locally sourced food and drink buffet available. If you’re flying KLM as a Sky Priority Gold, Platinum or Business Class passenger, there’s a direct lounge-to-aircraft experience where a host will be on hand to board you directly from the lounge.

    5. Supporting local people and businesses

There are very few areas that have the sense of pride that Tees Valley has. From backing the Mighty Boro and celebrating our heritage, to scoffing Parmos and lemon tops and visiting our towns and beaches, we’re rightly confident of our region.

Flying from Teesside Airport helps support hundreds of local jobs – not just in the terminal itself but also at the brilliant local, national and international businesses that call our airport home. As well as helping us secure more routes, it’s a vote of confidence in our region, putting us on the map and supporting us to create more well-paid jobs for local people!

Don’t take our word for it – here’s some genuine feedback from our satisfied passengers!

“We love it here, it’s so easy and quiet… brilliant. One word to describe it would just be ‘easy’.”

“My experience today had been really good. We had a warm welcome, they took very good care of us.”

“This is our first time flying from Teesside and we’re loving it.  We normally fly from Newcastle, but we won’t be now, because its smaller, it’s quieter, and it’s nicer.”
