Top Thoroughbreds Land At Teesside Once Again For York Races

Teesside Airport’s flexible cargo facilities have once again welcomed top championship horses for one of the region’s biggest and most popular racing weekends.

Six thoroughbreds arrived on Wednesday morning with another two horses on Thursday (21 August) to compete in the York Races Ebor Festival 2025.

Minnie Hauk and Garden of Eden were the equine athletes arriving and departing on Thursday – with Minnie Hauk returning as the winner of its race.

Teesside’s facility is known for its quick turnaround of last-minute and time-sensitive cargo – coping with plenty of deliveries on the hoof.

And this year’s figures show it’s been a record-breaking year for cargo at Teesside – with 2025 on track to beat last year’s weight total by more than 200%.

Teesside Airport’s facility is a Border Control Point and can offload, process and get cargo on the road in as little as 30 minutes after an aircraft touches down.

Its location in heart of North East England – and at the centre of Great Britain – also means it’s ideally placed for manufacturers and businesses on Teesside and wider region, but also across the country.
