Popular Hays Travel Branch Reveals Teesside Airport Offers and Hits For 2026

A popular travel agent branch which has recently moved home has unveiled fantastic deals and big hits from Teesside for 2026.

Hays Travel, in Cleveland Retail Park, opened its doors in November and has had a roaring start to the year.

Branch Manager Lauren McCullow revealed how ever-popular Alicante had been a big Teesside hit with visitors – and how new flights to Antalya with MGA for 2026 were proving more competitive on price.

She said: “We’ve had a really good start to the year – we were over the moon with January, and we’ve done a lot of cruise bookings.

“The great thing with Alicante is we can do short stays of four or five nights. If people are flexible, and because Teesside is flying so many times a week now, it really helps.

“The Malaga route is really picking up. The summer flight times are great – particularly at 8.50am.

“Everyone asks us all the time about a Canary Island from Teesside!”

Among the Teesside deals on offer at the branch are a Four-Star package deal to Albufeira, Portugal in May for two adults from £599 per person, a Five Star Luxury Lara Beach holiday in Turkey from £1,399 per person, and a half-board Adult’s Only Majorca Deal from £972 per person this August.

Lauren also explained the popularity of fly-cruises had skyrocketed in the past year to 18 months.

She added: “They’ve taken off. People are realising the value of a cruise now and what’s included. A lot of them now are all-inclusive so comparing it side-by-side to a land-based holiday, the cruises do work out better.

“We do sell a lot of Marella cruises – predominantly because they are all inclusive.”

TUI offer a Teesside to Majorca route through the summer which links seamlessly with Marella cruises available to book as a package holiday.

Teesside recently unveiled Mavi Gok Airlines (MGA) is launching a route to Antalya, in Turkey, from July until October every Wednesday, bookable as a package holiday with your travel agent.

Lauren said prices on the route were now becoming more competitive when compared with other airports.

She added: “For maybe £80 per person more, you’re getting dropped off at Teesside and it’s on your doorstep or nearby, and you’re probably not paying the charges you would at larger airports.

“People want to support Teesside.”

No fewer than 260,762 passengers chose Teesside last year – a rise of 14.5% on 2024.

The airport offers flights to Corfu, Faro, Majorca, Guernsey and Jersey – with trips to Malaga, Amsterdam and Alicante all available for 12 months of the year.

The daily KLM service to Amsterdam Schiphol also provides onward connections to travel to more than 160 worldwide destinations from Teesside.

Hays Travel is the UK’s largest independent travel agent.

Its Cleveland Retail Park branch saw a move from Linthorpe Road last year.

Lauren said: “Since we’ve been here, people have literally walked in and said they want to book the deal in the window.

“It’s been great – people can park right outside our shop.”
