About the Role: As a firefighter at Teesside Airport, you’re not just on standby – you’re a key part of our daily operations, ready to respond to emergencies, support aviation activities, and help ensure smooth airport operations. This role offers hands-on, high-impact work for energetic and proactive individuals ready to make a difference.
Position: Airport Firefighter
Location: Teesside International Airport
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (42 hours/week)
Starting Salary: £26,755.33
What You’ll Do:
Emergency Response: React instantly to incidents, prioritizing safety and minimizing risk.
Medical Aid: Provide first aid and support emergency medical situations.
Station Readiness: Maintain equipment, vehicles, and operational readiness.
Wildlife Management: Help manage wildlife on airport grounds for safety.
Fire Prevention: Conduct risk assessments and fire audits.
Winter Operations: Keep our runway and facilities safe through snow clearing and de-icing.
Training & Instruction: Train staff in fire safety and awareness.
Support Airport Operations: Engage in tasks from baggage handling to patrols, making sure every corner of our airport is safe and operational.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experienced firefighters (civil aviation experience a plus but not required)
Strong communicators who work well in a team
Physically fit individuals who can pass a medical aligned with fire service standards
Adaptable team players with a flexible approach to shifts and hours
UK driving license holders (LGV license a bonus!)
What You Can Expect: If selected, you’ll be invited to an assessment day where we’ll test your fitness and practical skills, followed by an interview focused on role-specific and competency-based questions.
