Location: Teesside International Airport
Reports to: Head of Air Traffic Services

Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and orderly movement of aircraft at Teesside International Airport.

We are seeking an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) to provide air traffic control services in accordance with ATC Licence and Certificate(s) of Competence held. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an expanding airport working towards a 24/7 operation, where flexibility to work extensions and occasional night shifts is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely manage aircraft during ground manoeuvring, taxiing, take-off, landing, and within the Aerodrome Traffic Zone (ATZ).
  • Control vehicles on the manoeuvring area.
  • Operate communication systems, airfield lighting, and radar display consoles.
  • Initiate aerodrome inspections and bird scaring operations when required.
  • Maintain accurate ATC Watch Logs and monitor ATC ground equipment.
  • Provide essential flight information, weather updates, and coordinate with neighbouring ATC units and airspace users.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to new ATCOs (if qualified).
  • Act as ATCO in charge when required and ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Support emergency services during incidents and ensure operational continuity.

Skills & Experience

Essential –

  • UK ATCO Licence holder
  • Valid Class 3 medical
  • ADI & APS Rating
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Experience as a valid ADI/APS controller.
  • Flexible
  • Team Player

Desirable:

  • Met Observers Qualification
  • OJTI, UCA Endorsement
  • Verifier Qualification
  • Risk Assessment/Investigator certification
  • Class D/Class G Airspace experience
