What is the Passenger Facility Fee?

All passengers that wish to move through security into the departures area of Teesside International Airport must purchase a Passenger Facility Fee (PFF) ticket. The fee was first introduced in 2010.

What is the fee used for?

The Tees Valley Mayor has pledged to abolish the charge once the airport’s finances improve.

In the meantime, the charge will help support the continued operation of the airport and secure its sustainable future.

The Passenger Facility Fee can be purchased via a contactless process at the dedicated kiosk within the terminal, located near the check-in desks. They can also be purchased in advance online here.

The current fees to pass through Airport Security are as follows:

  • Adults – £6.00
  • Children aged 3 to 15 yrs – £2.00
  • Under 3 – Free
